I heard on the radio (so it must be true) that any storm preparedness supplies (canned food, water, generators, etc.) are being sold without sales tax.

Yeah and there was a story on the news about all the sheeple in line at Home Depots. The line was snaking out into the parking lot and I saw some morons with a cart and nothing more than a pack of bottled water and some batteries. Yeah wait in line for hours to save .60 cents in taxes. "But they told us we should get our supplies NOW..." Idiots.

I think Florida is going to be OK this year, at least on my coast. The last 2 seasons an upper level area of high pressure was sitting in the Atlantic, forcing all the hurricanes this direction. It's gone this season. Carolinas or New England better prepare for a big one I predict.

Fortunately, it missed us. We did get quite a soaking though, which was desperately needed. So all in all not bad. I stayed home yesterday due to the excrutiating migraine I had (I get one every time a storm of that magnatude is approaching) Will be lots of shells in the next few days and this weekend too.
